Maine Gates

The Maine Board Gate can be built as single gates or double gates.   The gates can be hung either with our
 Central Eye Double Strap Hardware (8312) or with our Rear Eye Double Strap Hardware (8324).
 Below we list the advantages of each type of hardware and a link that will take you to many gate configurations, detailed plans, layout and construction instructions.

Mounting with Central Eye Hinges (8312)

Requires 4.5” to 5” between post and gate.

Double Gates Central Eye

9 sizes for openings 8 feet wide to
20 feet wide

Gates hung between the posts can be hung on either a square or round post.
 Requires 4.5 to 5.0 inches between gate and post (filler blocks can be used)
 Gates open approximate 100 degrees in each direction.
 Easily adjusted.
 Very heavy duty and strong hardware.

Mounting with Rear Eye Hinges (8324 & 8325)

Between Post Hinge installation using 8256 mounting plate and adjustable pins.  Gap between gate and post 0.5" to 1.0".

 Gates open 180 degrees to fold back against adjacent fence.
 Easily adjusted.
